My daughter and I travelled to Malawi in March 2011 .We used the services of Jacob and the drivers of Red Rose Travel to transport us to and from the airport, to get around Lilongwe, and to travel to some beautiful parts of Malawi. We went to Dedza, Cape Maclear, Zomba and Liwonda National Park. Jacob and his drivers were friendly, punctual, quick to respond to our needs and the service was very professional and affordable. The cars were clean and reliable and having drivers with local knowledge enhanced our stay and understanding of the culture. I worked with VSO in Lilongwe for 1 year in 2010 and relied on Jacob and his trustworthy staff to get me home. I had nights where i was stuck at hospital and also when i was out with friends enjoying Malawi's nightscene. I came to Lilongwe for 5 days to do an intensive series of interviews for a health communications NGO. My organization had selected Jacob and Red Rose Travel based on positive reviews from the driving he had done for VSO staff. I am so grateful to have had such a reliable, kind, and friendly driver who is so easy to talk and listen to. He transported me reliably, safely, and on-time through a jam-packed interview schedule, and even treated me to an ice cream on Sunday afternoon while I waited to meet a friend! He helped resolve issues I had getting payment wired from London to pay for my hotel. I cannot speak highly enough of Jacob if you are looking for a driver / taxi in Malawi.
I had the pleasure of having Harry Mangni as my driver while I was in Lilongwe for work from July 29, 2013 to August 1, 2013. I could not have asked for anyone better. Harry was extremely knowledgeable about the area and the country of Malawi. He was very professional and was really helpful in all capacities. I also met his boss, Jacob Luciano, and he was equally amazing. When I go back, I will definitely ask for them again. I would recommend Red Rose Travel to anyone, without hesitation.

Given the very limited time I had available, he helped design an excellent 'Malawi in two days' schedule for me, taking in Cape Maclear (Lake Malawi National Park), Zomba Plateau, and Majete Wildlife Reserve. Overall, I can't recommend Jacob and Red Rose Travel enough - guys keep up the good work, and looking forward to seeing you again when I return to Malawi in a few months' time.
Visited Malawi for Business. Booked the vehicle in advance to travel from Liliongwe to Blantyre (about 400km). Jacob was on time, and did not complain despite the fact that my flight was slightly delayed. The trip was quite enjoyable as Jacob doubled as a "tour guide" and a Malawi ambassador. The vehicle was clean and in good condition. Keep up the good job.
I hired Red Rose to drive me and my daughter around Malawi and Zambia for 7 days in July of this year. Jacob arrived early on the first day, and was our driver the whole time. He was always early for appointments, well dressed, well-informed and well organised. He spoke Malawi and Zambian as well as excellent English, and so was able to help us out whenever we needed it, for example when dealing with passports and visas. He was friendly, reliable and very helpful, and if I ever return to the area I will certainly want to use him again.
I have lived in Lilongwe for 4 months and have used Red Rose Travel drivers for my daily rides to work, airport rides for guests, day tours for my visitors, and a 4 day trip to South Luangwa National Park in Zambia. I cannot speak highly enough of this service and I recommend it to everyone I know, residents and visitors alike. There has always been a driver available when needed, even with late-night airport drop-offs followed by early morning rides to work. Once I needed a driver to take me to the hospital at the same time my guest needed to go to the embassy, and two drivers showed up at our door early and took each us to our destinations promptly. It is extremely difficult to find efficient, punctual, and trustworthy services in Malawi, which makes this team all the more valuable. But I believe the drivers at Red Rose Travel would outshine their counterparts in any country in terms of work ethic and customer service. As long as you have one of their driver's numbers, you really don't have to worry about much else during your time in Malawi. - Christina Miller, MD, MPH
I utilized Jacob and Red Rose Travel for transport to and from Senga Bay and had a great experience. It was difficult to find any options in Malawi, and once I found Jacob he made contact right away and answered all my questions. Then months later when my trip finally came, he delivered everything as promised and was on time as well as very friendly and knowledgeable about his beautiful country of Malawi. He was also nice enough one day to remain on call for a good part of the day when Malawi Airlines lost my bag and was trying to get it to me where he might have been asked to drive it out to me. Highly recommended for any service he might provide!
